I really enjoyed this book. I wish it had a trigger warning because there is a graphic sex assault in the beginning. The book is an examines of gender, societal, and familial roles - from roles in the workplace, down to the role of a pet. The main character is uncompromising. This borders on annoying me, except she is so intelligent that she is always in the right anyway. I just learned that Brie Larson is playing the main character in the TV series, and I think she will be perfect!

I really liked this book. It was funny where I was laughing out loud, it was witty and snarky but also had me in tears a few times. I actually didn't think it was going to have such a heavy dose of sadness. I didn't really know what I was picking up when I started reading, I just knew it was popular. I am really glad I was a follower to read this one. I will probably think about this book quite often in the future.

I enjoyed this book as it had a powerful message about women in the workplace/home and the obstacles they had to overcome. Did it grab me immediately? No not really, rather it took me longer than I expected. I couldn't really relate to the characters in a way I would've liked.
