This sequel somehow manages to be both better and worse than the original. Like its predecessor, it is a captivating and suspenseful thriller that keeps you turning the pages. And as I've noticed so far in all of Freida's novels, the endings are always abrupt. However, I must say that this one’s ending felt more believable and less contrived than the first. Despite this, I didn't feel the same level of investment in the characters, which made me less engaged in the story this time around. Noneth ...more

3.5 ★ another good freida book. i started this book back in march and got to 70% before i fell into a horrible reading slump which made me put off the last 30% until today (and yup it’s july) so that might’ve affected my rating a bit though 3.5 is not bad at all! i might not have enjoyed this as much as the first one but freida still knows how to get me with the twists and her epilogues (specifically the last sentences/paragraphs) never fail to leave my jaw on the floor! i’ll definitely be readi ...more
