Unfortunately, I found this story predictable and it was difficult for me to connect to the FMC. Her critical thinking and internal dialogue gave me whiplash through the entire story. By the end, it seemed she had just given up entirely challenging her situation and just accepted that she was going to be used by someone, best go with the one you know the best rather than considering any other options. 2025: I enjoyed the book a little less this time around, mainly because I have read some seriously quality books in the meantime (I'm looking at you, The Road of Bones) and I knew the twist. However, still enjoyable, though it does drag a bit towards the middle.

Romantasy novel with a Norse mythology twist. If you like the ACOTAR and Fourth Wing series the first part of this duology will not disappoint. Took a little bit to get started but picked up real quick once you got through the first few chapters.
