This was a hard book to put down, I read it in 5 or 6 sittings and I’m not a very quick or experienced reader. First of all I loved the pace of storytelling. It is constantly shifting between a handful of POVs and multiple points in time all steadily building a vivid world set during WW2 and developing characters you can empathize with.
