I picked this up on a whim at the library. It was on the shelf and I had seen so many good reviews on it, I had to see what it was all about. I was nervous because this is not the genre I gravitate towards but I so glad I took the chance. It's told in 3 POVs, all in different time eras, and I really enjoyed that aspect. Ahh, a stunning debut!

Honestly, when I started it, I didn’t think I’d like it. I don’t like the whole POVs throughout time thing, because normally I only like one main character and dislike the rest. Here, I fell in love with all of the narrators.

I loved this gentle take on “witchcraft” and how it’s spun into something awful.

The book strongly focuses on motherhood, but not enough witchiness for me.

The pacing is inconsistent- sometimes it really drags. The writing is pretty at times; if you look closely there are layers of metaphors within the descriptive text.
