I was late hopping on the bandwagon but thank booktok I finally got on it.

This book was such an easy read, from the first chapter to the last I loved it.

I don’t even have the words to describe how great this book was, so I’m happy to say it’s my first 5⭐️ read of 2024!

God I forgot how much I loved this book. I love how Evelyn is so complicated and more than what you first think of her to be. This book got me back into reading a few years ago and it has just had the same effect. I have genuinely never read another book like this, one that impacts me so profoundly. The writing is so simple and straightforward that it almost masks how beautiful and intricate the actual story is, almost. Loved it! Overall a really captivating and engaging story and you really feel for the characters by the end of the novel. Totally shed a tear or two along the way. This author's version of Hollywood felt so very lived in and extensive that I found myself rushing through the present timeline to get back to Evelyn's past. Honestly one of my favorite books I’ve ever read! The way the author puts together the storytelling in the present with the actions of the past is seamless. I loved that I was able to find connections between the characters and myself on multiple occasions. It genuinely had me laughing, crying, fuming with anger, and picking my jaw up off the floor at the end. This isn’t even the genre I usually go for, but I would absolutely read this again!

Oh I’m so glad I read this. I thought I had some background knowledge when going into this book, but I ended up being completely surprised. Such an important book, but also such a fun read.

I will say that this is one book that I absolutely need to be transformed into a movie
