This was a really great read. I found the life and loves of Evelyn Hugo so intriguing! Themes that were explored: sexuality (specifically female sexuality), family, power & influence, self-worth & self-confidence, & gender roles. I think what I took away the most was how ambiguous a lot of these things are in our lives and I think the pressure, especially in today's world to say something is right or wrong or good or evil or black and white is too easily defined. 4.25 - an interesting little twist at the end!
First of I can’t believe it took me this long to read this book. I purchased it almost a year and a half ago and FINALLY picked it up and freaking LOVED IT.
I loved the old Hollywood aspect, the twists, the romance, the characters!? All of it. It was such a beautifully written story about love, loss, and lies. While also being about owning your truth, good versus evil, and being a boss bitch on top of it all. lol
