I hereby establish that I am not a fan of werewolves and vampires when they mate. Least of all when they’re trying to be unique, but failing miserably. Every time Lowe was called Alpha, I inwardly cringed, and then proceeded to outwardly cringe just the same. That being said, I love Ana, and I like how Misery has a backbone. That’s what we owe the three stars to. On the other hand, the spice felt like an affliction I just couldn’t stop encouraging (curse me, why couldn’t I stop reading this?!) a ...more

When I heard Ali Hazelwood and fantasy together I was so psyched... but honestly I was a little disappointed. For someone who can put me instantly in the feels in previous novels- no matter how similar they are- I found myself a little board and unamused. I wanted to like this book and in the end I did, but the romance felt like everything I've read before and the new material felt boring. ...more

This book had me in a CHOKEHOLD the entire time it’s my favorite read this year.
The ending is set up for a second book but in Serena’s story and I’m so fucking excited.
The little quotes from Lowe in the beginning of every chapter was genius and such a good addition to this amazing book.

I don't care what anybody says. Ali Hazelwood is always going to be my guilty pleasure 😀 I enjoyed the scenery change that it is now not a STEM book and it has vampires and werewolves in it. I have never read anything relating to the omegaverse (I think that's how it's called lol) so didn't really know what to expect but it was good! At the end again they were such a cuties (just like all of her couples in the other books). But the spice before, I mean.. 👀🫠 ...more

How did this author make blood sucking seem hot AND also make me cringe so ferociously with the whole “knot” bits?? 🥴🥴🥴🥴
Typical Ali Hazelwood novel. Mediocre writing, nonexistent physical descriptions, ‘smart’ FMC who wouldn’t see a brick if it hit them in the face and an obsessed MMC who is about as flavorful as an uncooked potato. With this being a paranormal, the world building was garbage as well.
What was different between this and a paranormal wattpad romance? A publishing deal?

An entertaining read with Ali Hazelwood’s usual wit and prose. I wanted this to be 5 stars for me, but unlike Hazelwood’s usual spice, the spice in this story left me a little cringe. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story!
