This was such a fun book to read. It was cute, funny, and cozy. I felt it was very silly and I liked that. I know a lot of people have issues with this one but I had fun reading it. The romance part of it was very light and I hope we get to see that develop more in the next book. The cliffhanger ending was disappointing but I knew about it going into it. Shelves: magic, fairytales

This was a book that hooked me immediately. None of the first chapter (or few chapters!) troubles, where the story takes a while to get going and really capture you attention. Loved the main characters and the humour. Will definitely look out for the the sequel to see what happens next!

“I don’t let him talk to any of the interns before he’s eaten breakfast—that’s the key. He’s crabby on an empty stomach,” she said, wondering just how many of their workers’ lives were saved because of a frosted pastry.

Pleasantly surprised how much I liked the characters. I’m happy that the author didn’t do the cliche of making Blade pine for Evie. He was just a cool guy with a dragon.

I liked Becky, who also didn’t fit the cliche of pining after Trystan. Evie was honestly endearing.
