Carissa Broadbent: you will be dealt with for putting my heart through so much in the last 100 pages.
This book had me hooked the minute I started it. Off the top of my head, I believe this is the first fantasy book I ever read that successfully integrated a romance without feeling forced and weird, so major props to Ms. Broadbent. Next, I’m pretty simple so I can say that I really did not expect the plot twist and WOW did it have me pacing my room yelling NO NO NO lol. I was very emotionally in ...more

Nothing to say except this book was truly so amazing.
I didn't think I would be able to feel like I was a middle schooler reading a fantasy book again but this book made me feel that.
While also hitting me deep at the painful messages behind each change of plot line.
I really enjoyed Vincent and oraya the love that they creates was so beautiful the writing style was amazing and I found myself relating so deeply with oraya and Vincent's relationship especially this line:

This book was a lot of fun - like the hunger games, but with vampires? I loved the portrayal of a father/daughter relationship and the growth of the main character, Oraya. A great romance story as well of course. Plenty of plot twists and turns to keep you reading. I would have appreciated a little more world building to understand how these games got started in the first place.

Everything about this was perfect - the plot, the characters, the world-building, the action, the secrets, the narration! I loved it!
