Overall enjoyed this and would re-read! I found the beginning to be pretty slow for me, but once I got about 1/3 of the way in, I couldn’t put it down and picked up the second book immediately. The magical world of Prythian was fun to get lost in. I liked all the characters (even the villains). From what I’d heard about this, I was expecting it to be super spicy, but there’s really only 1 or 2 graphic scenes in here. (view spoiler)

This book is so trash and I hate you guys for recommending it!
First of all, the main character is such a loser bc why is she letting her weak ass dad walk (barely) all over her, and her hating ass sisters bully her. I genuinely don’t get what people like about this book! The writing is terrible, the characters are terrible. The plot is terrible. Throw the whole thing away. You guys need to touch grass bc if you think this is a good book your so delusional I’m sorry. With literally any other boo ...more

First of all, for those of you who like spice, I would place this firmly at about a 2 BUT this is the first in the series and does it dial right up in the next book.
"A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas is a breathtaking masterpiece that had me enchanted from the very first page. This spellbinding blend of fantasy and romance is a true testament to Maas's storytelling prowess.

I overall loved this book!! Absolutely read all five books within one week. As much I loved it, it also has one of my biggest peeves. The main character is your classic "I'm so tiny" "I need a man to save me" type of character. I honestly prefer female characters who are stand alone, and romance that isn't built off of dependency. Idk she was like 18 and the man was over 100yrs old?? But yes, I still loved it, which to me means that Sarah J. Maas is an amazing writer.
