What Members Thought

I read this one in a matter of hours. It was so twisty which made it absolutely riveting, something not many books are for me. There was even some humor in it, which I did not expect. I LOVED the whole book and am so sad I will never get to experience reading this for the first time again. The audiobook is an absolute gem.
Side note: lots of TWs but the ending is satisfying so that makes it worth it imo.

Millie is a recent parolee who is down on her last luck, living out of her car and hoping to get a job as a housemaid for the affluent Winchester family. At first glance, the Winchesters seem like the perfect cookie cutter family. However as Millie's time with the Winchesters grows, it becomes clear not only to Millie but also to the reader, that there is more to the Winchesters than what meets the eye. Dark secrets and pasts of all the characters merge into this fast paced thriller.

Starting off the year with a five star read!! This book had me hooked pretty quickly, and it was honestly eerie enough that i was mildly uncomfortable as i was reading it trying to figure out the plot twist. they did a really good job of making Nina a weird figure in the story.
i did feel like aspects of the plot twist were a bit far fetched, but otherwise really liked how everything played out! big big fan of this book honestly i read it in just one day

The hype is REAL!! I devoured this book in a day. I feel like I just got off a rollercoaster and want to immediately go on another one.
Millie is riding the struggle bus — living in her car, jobless & technically violating her parole. She lands a job as a live in housemaid for a couple, Nine & Andrew. Everything seems great at first, but Nina seems to be insane, blaming Millie for things she didn’t do and purposefully sabotaging her work efforts at the house. Nina’s husband, Andrew, see’s how Mi ...more

I don't understand the hype about this book. "From behind closed doors, she sees everything". She doesn't see anything. She is naive and ignorant (especially for ex-con), demanding, whining and arrogant, who doesn't see anything until the last few chapters. Even the cover is lying as to what you should expect.
So many unanswered questions, like: Millie was in prison from the age of 17 for 10 years. She gets out, lives in her car, get's the job at the Winchesters a ...more
