I enjoyed discussing this with my book club. We all agreed that this book was varying levels of objectively bad but it was great fun nonetheless. Sometimes, you just need to read something a bit trashy. I don't think I'll continue with the series. ...more

Shelves: thriller

Obviously with books of this ilk, we know something bad is coming! Just not what, why or how. I appreciate an author who can weave such a sense of foreboding into their writing. Right from the get go, we have an underscore of tension, and it then builds from there. I enjoyed the twists and turns and where the story goes. Funny, I’m cautious for heavily hyped books like this, as they often fall short of high expectations. But this was a good, solid 4*.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Went in completely blind knowing none of the details about it made finding out each detail of the story better and better as each one unfolded. I highly recommend this book for fans of this genre.

This was my first Frieda McFadden book.
What a great story.

I actually did predict the “whodunnit”; but the ending with the recommendation. That I didn’t see coming.

What a great story.
Looking forward to the second installation.
