I have been a fan of Kimberley's books for a few years now. This is hands down one of her very best! The way she weaves this suspenseful story was fantastic. Alaska is one of my favorite settings for books and it was a perfect setting for this story with the evil plans the bad guys are up to. The risks with the dangerously cold temperatures take this story to a whole 'nother level of danger. It is such a great read and I am in desperate need of book two so I can see what happens next!

This is an impending disaster suspense novel, with the emphasis on suspense. Darcie Phillips has just taken a new job as the Emergency Operations Center director in Fairbanks, Alaska, when an old woman starts spouting out what seems to be doom and gloom headed their way as soon as the temperature goes down to 26 below. Darcie enlists the assistance of computer guru Jason Myers to help avert a disaster, and the two of them work together to try to secure the power and communication grid. The nefar

A fascinating take on cyber terrorism that is both realistic and chilling--and not because it's Alaska!
Woodhouse has crafted a novel that grabbed me on the first page and refused to let go until the end. Her characters were interesting and the possible outcomes endless.
My only issue was the romance. I wasn't fond of Darci, and I didn't feel the tension that makes for a good romantic relationship. But the background characters were wonderfully interesting and witty.

Suspenseful story about a cyberattack in Alaska. Really interesting details about emergency response systems and cyber security. The conflict is not quite fully resolved, hinting at the next book in the series. It contains both suspense and romance.
I enjoyed the story and characters. However, I felt the ending was a little abrupt and the resolution too quick.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I’d always intended to read one of her historicals. I don’t read this genre often but I found the premise fascinating. I liked the Alaska setting and the intricacies of a catastrophic event happening if everything computerized shut down.
I love that the romance is clean and sweet, the storyline is completely appropriate for teens (even though written for adults), and the faith is prominent—woven well throughout the story.

I read 8 Down when it released (my first by this author) and I loved it but could definitely tell I was missing some background and thus I’m back to read the first book (and I’ll probably reread the second) before the third releases. And, it’s so cool because I’m actually starting it out the day after the first date listed in the book.
It was a wonderful and thrilling ride. Cybersecurity and Alaska, cold and emergency prep and more. I can’t wait for more of this series and this author. A great Ch ...more

Who knew that Kimberley Woodhouse wrote something other than historical fiction?! I definitely did not but I am completely here for it and she truly knocked it out of the park. I was completely hooked from the very first page and I needed to find out how it would all play out.

Wow! More than 5 stars is deserved here! It is a fascinating story; something that could actually happen. The characters are fantastic! They're all realistic and engaging. I found myself deeply invested in this book! The ending is a cliffhanger! Ah, I can't wait until the next one comes out! A definite must read!

What an intriguing premise! A prediction that cyber chaos will occur when the temperature falls to 26 below zero in Fairbanks, Alaska, has a team of cybersecurity specialists scrambling to prevent it. The story was a little slow at times, but overall, it was a satisfying suspense story. Recommended for those who enjoy the Christian romantic suspense genre.

From a faith perspective, I think this book hit it out of the park. The use of numbness to describe how the heroine felt when she'd strayed from God truly helped convey what that feels like.
