The perfect companion to Come Forth as Gold.

As Kitty is entering the autumn of her life in this book, it makes for a great fall read. After the Water Brooks follows Kitty and Claude on a journey of discovery after her dad dies, his parents lose their home, and their last child flies the nest. Whew. This is not a light, easy read, but it IS a powerful one, and Erica has written it beautifully.

In Come Forth as Gold, which is the author's first book, you see everything through Claude's point of view, and it was really interesting to see Kitty's side of things in After the Water Brooks. It was also heartbreaking to see things from Lia's point of view.
