Author Denise Weimer has penned another meticulously researched story in this third book of her Scouts of the Georgia Frontier series. I feel like I always learn something new when I pick up one of her books. She has a way of bringing history to life and I appreciated her author’s notes at the conclusion of the book. In A Cherished Betrothal, Denise Weimer spins a tale of fiction but artfully incorporates many real-life figures and events to strengthen the story. Faith threads through the book and the love story is sweet. Who can resist unrequited love that starts in childhood and lives on in the girl's heart, even though the boy has been gone for sixteen years? Not me! And this hero is definitely worth the wait.

I was excited for the chance to read and review A Cherished Betrothal, which is the third in the Scouts of the Georgia Frontier series. It is equally as intriguing as the first two. This is an era of US history I don't remember ever learning about, and this series makes me want to learn more.
I enjoyed the spiritual growth that both Alex and Elspeth had, and understand Alex's struggle to forgive.
