I have always enjoyed Tracie Peterson's books and thought I had read all but her most recent releases. I was wrong. I somehow missed this series. I read book 1 in 24 hours. It truly was, for me, one of those books I couldn't put down. I loved the characters, the community, the story.. all of it. So so good!

Romance is certainly key, but there is also suspense. It was historically accurate and I loved being a part of the community and getting to know other characters. They weren't just in the bac ...more

I enjoyed the lead characters and the interesting ice cutting facts (though that only is mentioned near the beginning really). Unfortunately, The plot was not my favorite. The tension just seemed to drag on, and then neatly resolve.

Yet as a whole, it wasn’t a terribly unpleasant read :) and it’s a clean story, which is always a plus. The older Christian characters in this story were genuine and I loved their sage advice and care and mentorship for the younger adults. I so appreciate people like ...more
