I have been privileged to read Erica Vetsch's other novels and I really enjoyed reading My Heart Belongs in Fort Bliss Texas. Ms. Vetsch has a style of writing that is descriptive and heartfelt. She weaves history into her novels effortlessly and I enjoyed learning about Fort Bliss, Texas in 1874. Her main character Priscilla Huschens is a " modern" woman of the times and struggles with her feeling of anger towards anyone in the military. A story of family devotion, trust, danger and love. When Priscilla's niece and nephew are orphaned, she decides to travel to Fort Bliss, Texas and bring them back home with her. A tough custody battle may happen, if Elliot has anything to say about the matter. Each character is well described and the story is fast paced. I enjoyed this book very much.
