At around 100 pages, this book beautifully portrays the tragedy of the characters found in a Depression era Californian ranch. The idyllic dreams of the men and women lies in stark contrast with the destitute setting of the time. I was transported to the beautiful oasis where George and Lennie began their story and ultimately ended it as well. Such a beautiful story told in so few words. Truly incredible read
