why do i feel like reading mysteries is a race against the characters to try and figure it out before they do. i hate every single decision they make but somehow they're also 100 times smarter than me?? why.

okay where do i even start - although this book is over 400 pages it most definitely doesn’t feel like that length while reading. there is so much happening and those final 60 pages were literally out of this world. i can’t believe i ever liked charlie as a character in general and completely looked past everything he was hiding and lying about, i guess just thinking about if your wife disappeared an oh my gosh, i thoroughly enjoyed this book, holly jackson with a perfect mystery book YET AGAIN.

okay where do i even start - although this book is over 400 pages it most definitely doesn’t feel like that length while reading. there is so much happening and those final 60 pages were literally out of this world. i can’t believe i ever liked charlie as a character in general and completely looked past everything he was hiding and lying about, i guess just thinking about if your wife disappeared and you had to care for your daughter completely alone, i felt some pity for him, can’t even imagine how difficult that would be.

THE ENDING. those final 60 pages had me absolutely balling my eyes out, i did not expect to cry while reading this book but cried 4 times, and not just tearing up, but tears literally streaming down my face. STREAMING. i loved the emotion that was added to the ending considering the hatred i was experiencing towards rachel the entire novel, the ending was a perfect way to rid the hatred and replace it with sympathy, poor rachel😭.

i loved the twist that carter and bel were actually siblings because their relationship was so close the entire novel and the ending was soo wholesome when this is uncovered and carter can get the treatment she deserves from a family, although sherry tried, she was a terrible mother, always putting ballet and dancing before her daughters feelings and wellbeing.

aghhh ash was my favourite character by farrr, he was so sweet and caring, i hated how they had to go their own separate ways at the end, considering how much he did for bel i reallyyyy wanted them to be endgame, but with holly jacksons books, that never happens😂.

i finished this in perfect time for the agggtm series, just about to grab some popcorn and bundle up with a blanket and binge watch the entire show, but all week i have been getting into the holly jackson spirit with this book. can’t waitttt.

nevertheless, i highly recommend this book and every single one of hollys books is outstanding every single time, she never fails to deliver, thank you holly!!
