This book just kept getting better and better my jaw was dropping every chapter towards the end. It was plot twist after plot twist.

So Bel was the main character and the book was through her point of view.Basically her mom who she didn't even properly know disappeared "16" years ago (iykyk).I found her a bit annoying at the start like she was so negative, but then I guess it must be weird welcoming back a mystery disappeared woman.I like how Jackson created parallels and although she wasn't as quick witted or as smart as Pip (from agggtm) she showed similar characteristics. AND THE PARRALLEL BETWEEN (BEL AND ASH) TO (PIN AND RAVI). Although it wasn't as stong of a relationship I still saw the links.

you know that saying 'mother like daughter'.Thta's wat first came to my mind and I thnk Jackon was trying to highlight this point.I mean they are both so alike in voice and in thinking.i felt so so bad after I found out the whole story.(no spoliers) I'm glad they got a happy ending (although i wasn't expecting one).

BRO I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT ENDING AT ALL. At the start I was making up my own assumptions thinking I was so smart but no.It was the most unlikely person ever.
and the clues was amazing like I would have never thought of that at all.

Overall I loved thiss book and I was not disspointed.Holly Jackson is one of the authors I will always trust to write an amazing book. ...more

holly jackson never disappoints! the plot twists were chefs kiss 😘 I did not expect any of that! the romance in this book was very little, but very necessary since I haven't read an actual romance book in so long 😭

Holly Jackson give me ONE happy romance ending 😭😖
This book was so well written! The start was a bit slow but overall definitely worth it. These characters are all so detailed and I loved how you could see the different effects they all had on each other. uggh and the ending was so bittersweet!

Leaving isn't the same as leaving behind.

Bel
She had a clean record, she was very very good at it. Making people leave her before they choose to go anyway. Same result in the end, because everybody left eventually, but it hurt less. That was what life was, choosing the way it hurt less.
She is strong and smart, she knows where to look.
I loved the family moments at the end ( not going to spoil anything here )

my gosh. Also spoiler warning for this review!! This is just a random little funny story but I had just started the book a few weeks ago and all of my friends had already finished it and I was talking about the book. I said ‘I like the dad and Bel’s cousin’ (as I thought she was). Oh how wrong I was about that.😭😭😭
