This book just kept getting better and better my jaw was dropping every chapter towards the end. It was plot twist after plot twist.

So Bel was the main character and the book was through her point of view.Basically her mom who she didn't even properly know disappeared "16" years ago (iykyk).I found her a bit annoying at the start like she was so negative, but then I guess it must be weird welcoming back a mystery disappeared woman.I like how Jackson created parallels and although she wasn't as quick witted or as smart as Pip (from agggtm) she showed similar characteristics. AND THE PARRALLEL BETWEEN (BEL AND ASH) TO (PIN AND RAVI). Although it wasn't as stong of a relationship I still saw the links.

you know that saying 'mother like daughter'.Thta's wat first came to my mind and I thnk Jackon was trying to highlight this point.I mean they are both so alike in voice and in thinking.i felt so so bad after I found out the whole story.(no spoliers) I'm glad they got a happy ending (although i wasn't expecting one).

BRO I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT ENDING AT ALL. At the start I was making up my own assumptions thinking I was so smart but no.It was the most unlikely person ever.
and the clues was amazing like I would have never thought of that at all.

Overall I loved thiss book and I was not disspointed.Holly Jackson is one of the authors I will always trust to write an amazing book. ...more

i really liked the concept of the story. after 16 years, Bels mom reappears but she might not tell the truth. so it’s up to Bel (and Ash) to find out what really happened.
in this book, there are a lot of twists and plots and you have to overthink literally everything. but i liked that. how you were made to trust a character just to later realise their were the villain was insane!

My thoughts: This was a great read and I have no doubt this book will be on my mind for several days. The character development in this book was amazing- each character had a personality I had no problem imagining. The plot was amazing just like every Holly Jackson book even though AGGGTM will forever have a special spot inside my heart. This book is surprisingly nothing like AGGGTM as I previously thought, earning this book another star. I did feel like this book was unnecessarily stretched over a couple of hundred pages but after that 65% mark, things started picking up which I appreciate.

The FMC: Bel had a snarky attitude at times which I understand after everything that happened to her. Sometimes, however, it did make me mad; otherwise, I love her confidence and intelligence. I do think that this aspect differentiated herself from Pip as some people might have believed she would be more similar to her. I loved her relationship with those close to her like Carter for example. So all in all, I respect her.

The love interest: I loved Ash!! He was so sweet and funny. Not to mention he could also keep up with Bel's sarcasm. I will admit, at first, I was hesitant, I mean the 'man-bun' and clothing 😭but he grew on me and his personality also made up for the lack in style lol. I loved how he stuck with Bel throughout the book and some of the scenes between them were so sweet! The ending was heart-breaking though. I hope he and Bel meet up again sometime and hopefully start dating. pipravi reigns superior but that doesn't mean I don't love Ash as well >3

The Plot: It twisted my brain in different directions, and I damn well didn't expect the ending AT ALL. Though I believe it could've been shortened slightly, the last 35% made up for it. Also, I do wish this book had those fancy chapter titles like the ones in agggtm, it would've added a bit more flourish. On that note- I LOVED the cover! It's so pretty and truly amazing!

WHAT A BOOK! Holly you never disappoint me. A super pressing book, from which you can never take your eyes off. I gave it four stars because it doesn't surpass all of Holly's other books, but it's wonderful anyway. Very well written, wonderful story!
