Bel didn’t want to be anything like Rachel Price. If she lit up rooms, Bel would darken them. If she was forgetful, Bel had to try that much harder not to be.

I've always wanted to read about a smart and feisty protagonist in a thriller novel who isn't always prone to making dumb decisions and actually pays attention to the little details so, I feel pretty fulfilled to say Bel served the purpose. I am now banning myself from reading two standalone books in a row by the same author. The first book (five survive) always gives me too high expectations for the next one 😪

I tried rlly hard to love this book, also considering how Holly Jackson said this was maybe her best book yet, but overall I felt like I did not care about what was happening whatsoever.
