I've been eager to read this book ever since Tijan started teasing her fans with little bits and pieces of this book. I was so happy when she did a surprise release with almost no notice and immediately picked up a copy of the book. I was looking for a hot read with angst, and that's exactly what I got.

While the book maybe titled after the hero in the book, most of the story is narrated and told through Jo's eyes. Jo is our heroine who has been hiding from the world ever since she wa 4.75 stars!

Jo is our heroine who has been hiding from the world ever since she was rescued by Kian who was then sent to jail for what he did to help her. I liked Jo for the most part. I understand her fears at being unmasked to the world and experiencing the brunt of their hatred. I also understood her fear of Kian and not knowing what was going to happen when he was released from prison. I didn't really like how indecisive she was about what actions to take and the men in her life.

I will admit I found Kian to be both swoony and dangerous. It was really hard to get a reading on him. As I found out more about Kian, I found him to be really endearing. I really think it was how he was worried for Jo, but also about how he felt about his actions. For someone who was supposed to be such a bad boy, I thought he had a heart of gold. Jo and Kian had wonderful chemistry. I'm not sure if it was the shared past they had or whether it was the element of suspense, but I was hoping they might get together. I only wish there were more scenes between them and that they were more explicit. It really felt like there was a build up but when the time came for them giving into their feelings, it just faded to black which was a bit of a let down.

Overall, Kian really kept me on my toes. Tijan is really good at putting me through the emotional wringer and writing suspense. There were a number of twists in Kian I didn't see coming and I was on edge waiting for something crazy to happen, which didn't really manifest. I feel like I had built up the anticipation to a really high level. I really enjoyed seeing Jo with her friends Erika and Wanker. I liked how Kian was with them as well. I read this book in a single sitting and was a little sad when it was over. As much as I love Tijan's stand alone novels, I was slightly surprised at how different this one was from her others. This was a pretty good book. Kian Maston went away to prison for saving Jordan's life from her Foster Father. She was beautiful and had eyes that stood out. Her Foster Father was convinced she was either a Goddess or Lucifer sent her down to tempt him. He was drunk and had been drinking a lot lately and thought it was best to kill her. This was a quick read but I enjoyed it Kian was dark and mysterious a bit of a loner bit of a bad boy hot as hell and Jordan/Jo was running hiding her identity and trying to escape her past but these things always catch up and this time was no different the chemistry was hot from the 2 MC's and the writing flowed nicely a little bit of drama and angst not to much and a nice HFN I say that cause there was no epilogue and to me it's open if Tijan ever wants to write more which I hopes she does!!!! ...more
