This book was a great look into the knitted history of great Britain. The author takes you on a wonderfully descriptive journey from the Channel Islands up to the northernmost inhabited island in Britain in the Shetlands and almost everywhere in between. She studies the garments each area is known for from Dentdale gloves to Shetland lace to gansey sweaters. Some of the place names were unfamiliar to American me.
