A fascinating look at the inside of a struggling industry. As a knitter and spinner, I thought I was already well versed in how fleece becomes yarn that ends up in craft/yarn stores. But I was only familiar with it as it pertained to me personally. Parkes takes you on a journey as if you were a company (she refers to it as the hypothetical sweater company) and you travel with her from farm to scouring plant to 4 different kinds of mills and end at dyers.
