This book grabbed me and never let me be in peace till I finished it. So it was a straight read from one evening to the next evening with a gap of 8-9 hours in between when I forced myself to go to work. I just loved it. It is my second book by this author, first being 'Twisted' but not as good as this one. I am just waiting to read her other books. YA novels have always appealed to me and this one deals with a very pertinent subject, which every teenager should be wary of.

Re-reading for class this semester. Still one of the most powerful YA novels I've ever read - I'm always impressed with how well this holds up to repeated readings.

Laurie connected to me on so many levels of expression that I couldn't bear to part with the book after I was done. I'm grateful that producers decided to translate this story into movie. It was well written and higly relateable. It blatantly breaks open the scret worlds in which most of us are held silent. I really do believe that this book has given some people a voice, and the courage to use it.

I think the message behind this book is powerful. however, the portrayal of adults in this story just felt very unrealistic. maybe it's just me but I would assume parents would investigate when their child's personality and behavior changed drastically.
