Once again I find myself in the position of being one of the people who loved a book that seemed to be received by the masses as mediocre. I honestly didn't look at any reviews or ratings for this book before I read it (I just read the Kindle sample and had to know what was going to happen), and I'm so glad because I might not have picked it up!

The worldbuilding and character development were phenomenal. This was such an original take on the ideas of what makes a vampire and how the world would react to an uprising of vampires. It was interesting to think that people who were infected could still resist turning if they had willpower and resources to keep them from drinking blood. The culture that surrounded the coldtowns was also very interesting. I loved the inclusion of social media's integral role in the trendiness and obse ...more

This book was fantastic!! I can’t remember when I got a terrific stand alone. I love some good vamp fiction and this one was truly unique and wonderful.
