I like Jane Austen novels, but this one didn't impress me as much as the rest. The first half was nice - developing characters and scintillating conversations, but the second half with the introduction of Northanger Abbey became boring and prototypical. The heroine is a goody goody wishy washy girl who goes to Bath with her older acquaintances and develops two friendships there - one fickle, one firm.
