The ending even though was not something I guessed it to be was to a degree disappointing. I like thriller books that make me feel I am picking up on every clue and still manage to show how i missed the key factors that lead to the climax. This one though, was said in a way that would only cater to my curiosity. Hence, I was annoyed by the climax.
I'm actually disappointed this won the Goodreads choice award.. as there were so many books on the list that had such better endings.

There was an excellent build up and then....I just felt disappointed. I don't know. The writing was good. The ending was twisty, which I usually love. I don't know. Sometimes, books just don't connect, for any number of indescribable reasons. This was one. I give it 2.5 stars because I thought it started out well enough. ...more

This was a WILD ride! The writing was a bit lacking for me in parts, but overall it was a book that I couldn’t put down!

Obviously a quick read since I read it in a day. It was good book. Held my interest. A wife is accused and convicted of the brutal murder of her husband. She does not speak after he’s murdered. This is book is about a psycho analyst who has come to rescue her, to get her to talk, to bring out the rest of her story.

I picked up this book last year and at the time I was pregnant and apparently the pregnancy brain was in full beast mode because it made me DNF this book. After watching my favorite booktubers praise it so much I decided to give it a second shot. And omg am I glad. From the very first pages, it grabbed me and did not let me go until I was done. The plot twists at the end were genius. Never did I imagine what happened ...not in a million year. This is easily one of my favorite reads this year 5 s ...more

WOW!! That was the biggest twist I could imagine! Never in a million years would I have figured it out! I had 2 or 3 people in mind, and it was someone from left field. Way to keep me guessing. This was a great book. Will definitely be recommending it. Sooo thankful I was sent an ARC from #celadonbooks #TheSilentPatient
