Super well-written, but I think the ending is pretty predictable about 30% of the way through, so I was kinda bored the rest of the book. Definitely would have rated it higher if I didn't see the ending coming so early on.
The characters are really well-fleshed out and distinctive, and I think the author does an excellent job of differentiating their different voices between the different points of view. Super cute book with a cute ending, but I feel like it's a little slow plotwise ...more

loved this! i wasn’t expecting to enjoy an octopus’s point of view, but it added a lot to the story and i found it very interesting. i enjoyed seeing the characters grow and slowly discover the relationships that were evident to marcellus (and the reader) the entire time. solid read.
