incredible. i learned and felt so much. every story was like seeing the world through a different lense and taught me something new
Really good read. Great mix of many different stories that really show the struggles of the different eras, and the prose was awesome. Does a great job of showing just how deep-rooted systemic inequalities are, and it was also super interesting to see how different characters' decisions had major impacts even a couple generations later (every time a character referenced something that happened like 3 chapters ago I was like :O). beautiful
reread for postcolonial lit, hit just as hard in the end. some sections hit even harder. we still have 6 chapters to discuss but our discussions have made the book even better then the first read
this book was so perfectly beautiful maybe will write more maybe won’t but definitely a new favorite
