Since my junior high daughter is currently reading this book as required reading, I thought I would read it again. I enjoyed it so much more as an adult. I forgot about the humor in this book. I’m still chuckling when I think about Tom giving his cat “the painkiller”. Since the book was written in 1876, there are some politically incorrect and socially unacceptable “words” and “attitudes” used in the book. The new audible book is well narrated by Nick Offerman.
