I finally finished it! I've been trying to read this book forever, since quite a few people I know, whose opinions I trust, tell me this series is one of their favorites, but honestly I've never been able to get past this book. At the risk of getting shouted down, it's not very good. And to be fair to me, even Stephen King in the intro for this copy says the same thing, calling it hard to read, and he wrote it! I've put off reading this for years, having somehow gotten the impression it was a "Western" or was similar to any Clint Eastwood movie I'd ever had to watch back when the 'Rents controlled the evening television. But, having stumbled across this epub in a collection of my files and recognizing that a movie was coming out related to this series, I thought "Why not?"
