Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old genius criminal mastermind. His plan to reclaim his family's fortune and honor hinges on his ability to catch a fairy and hold it for ransom. Yes, it's the actual plot of the book. Yes, it's weird. Yes, it's kind of confusing. But it's also a whole lot of fun.
I'd been told that if I wanted to read a good YA series, I should try Artemis Fowl, but for whatever reason I couldn't get into the paperback version of the book. I picked it up, read a few pages, and then put ...more

With my recent reread of Uprooted, I started to think about the books I really enjoyed when I first started to call myself a reader and Artemis Fowl was the first to come to mind; however, as I began to think of the series, I came to realize that I didn’t remember anything! This book was decent I liked it but I just didn't love it. Then I watched the movie and the stories were very different. The boy who steals from fairies what a fun premise. The main character seems a little stuck on himself so he could do with a little humility. Overall I did enjoy it just don't know if I will continue reading it or not.
