I've had this on my TBR for a long time and I'm just now getting to it, and I'm so mad that I waited as long as I did.
This book was smart, funny, and immensely entertaining. Darynda Jones really has created something special in Charley Davidson. I loved her snark, her kick ass attitude, and her determination to help people. She's the perfect UF heroine.
I can't wait to continue this great series! ...more

I wasn't sure what I was expecting with the start of this series, but whatever my expectations, I really liked it. I thought Charley Davidson was the kind of kick-ass, funny, sassy heroine that I just love and there was just the right amount of humour, romance and plot to make the book a great read. I loved the whole concept of Charley being able to talk to the dead. I think one of the funniest parts was when the dead lawyer, Elizabeth, was sitting between Charley and Garrett (although the latte

#1 in the Charley Davison series
This is cute--not great--but cute. I liked the idea of Charley being able to "see dead people" and help them cross to the other side. She's learned not to mention her ability too often, but she does use her skills to help the police department (namely, her Uncle Bob) solve some of their cases. In this case she helps 3 lawyers who were shot, but they didn't know why. She also helps many people who haven't yet crossed because they often wish they could send some las ...more

Oh myyyyy goodness. I am all for humor, for books that have me giggling aloud. I am a huge fan of witty characters, puns, and sarcasm. But this was too much. TOO MUCH. So much that I became annoyed, quickly. And it was a struggle to get through this one. (Had it not been for needing this title to complete a reading challenge, I would have abandoned ship before page 50.)

My review is in spoiler tags because it hasn't been edited yet. It probable has too much negative stuff as that's what I tend to think to write down. If I'm enjoying myself, I don't want to stop reading! Plus, I listened to it in the car and couldn't really stop to take notes

The world of Charley Davidson is fun and witty. Can't wait to see what happens next in this series and especially what happens with Reyes.

I'm revisiting this series because I really liked it and wanted to catch up now that there are more, and because I need longer series for the WACKY 17 X 17 READING CHALLENGE.
