Digital audiobook narrated by Kate Reading
One of the best opening lines of literature: “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”
I thought it was okay when I read it in high school. I re-read it shortly after the BBC mini-series came out and really appreciated it. I’ve seen several film adaptations. And now I’ve listened to the audio version.

4.5 stars.
Though not my absolute favorite, this definitely ranks among the top Austen novels for me. The personalities of her characters are so entertaining and marvelous. There are a LOT of social underpinnings so carefully woven into the narrative and a few convoluted, though not overly complex, plot points that make the narrative intriguing and take it far beyond a mere social novel. It's truly masterful writing.

The opportunity to hold Mr Darcy's letter in my hand, to unfold it, to anxiously peruse it multiple times like Elizabeth herself did is an experience like no other.
These 19 letters take Austen's beloved P&P to a whole new level, and I am in FREAKING looovve with it!!!
My husband bought me this for Christmas, and it is such a special gift. To bring my favorite book to life, even if just for a few letters, is an absolute treasure. A MUST for Jane fans! ...more

I read this in high school and loved it. I am reading it again as an adult, and while I liked the romance part of it, I really thought the writing to be a lot to muddle through. I know this how proper english is SUPPOSED to be spoken, but goodness me, I think I'd rather just get down to it instead of using a lot of flowery words. I guess as I've gotten older, I'm less impressed with that style of writing.
