this was quite the gem! I probably never would have read it had it not been for my book club. once I sat down to read it for more than 30 minutes, I was intrigued by these intertwining stories. I was captured and fascinated. Tessaro's writing is beautifully done. the only reason this isn't 5 stars is because i wanted a little more from the ending. can't wait to discuss! ...more

I really enjoyed this much more than I expected to. I loved the way the stories were told because it helped me intersect Eva and Grace's lives together more. Although, I knew how they were connected, there were quite a few surprises in the book for me as well.

This is so not my usual fare. it's historical with no real romance in sight, but it still kept me riveted. I think I could see myself reading something by this author again in the future.
