This book has an interesting premise. After being hit by lightning, Harper Connelly develops a strange psychic gift -- she can find dead bodies and (usually) can tell how they died. She's been hired to come to Sarne, Arkansas, and find missing teenager Monteen Hopkins. But finding the body is only the start of a mystery that threatens the lives of Harper and her stepbrother Tolliver.

This was a lot of fun to read. Harper and her brother, Tolliver, have become 2 of my favorite characters. Harper's ability to find dead people is actually pretty cool. Why she gets so much shit for it from her clients and other people is a bit of a mystery to me. If I was in a situation where I was uncertain of a loved ones death, you can bet I would hire Harper to help. I can't wait to read the next one. ...more

This makes a pretty good summer beach read. I admit

She has made a career about finding missing bodies, providing closure for many people. Unfortunately, lots of folks feel this is a evil practice and think she's preying on people's grief, so she and her stepbrother keep on the road, rarely making any connections. Both Harper and her brother Tolliver spend a ...more
