I received a complimentary copy of Chasing Wishes by Nadia Simonenko in exchange for an honest review.

I was so excited for the chance to read another Nadia Simonenko book because I absolutely inhaled the first two books that I've read. And Nadia did not disappoint me with Chasing Wishes.

Irene has found her way despite a very troubled childhood. Much of the story is told in flashbacks as we got to meet her as a teenager. Back then she was known as Nina, and had transferred to a new high school I received a complimentary copy of Chasing Wishes by Nadia Simonenko in exchange for an honest review.

I was so excited for the chance to read another Nadia Simonenko book because I absolutely inhaled the first two books that I've read. And Nadia did not disappoint me with Chasing Wishes.

Irene has found her way despite a very troubled childhood. Much of the story is told in flashbacks as we got to meet her as a teenager. Back then she was known as Nina, and had transferred to a new high school where because of her family's financial and ethnicity, she did not fit in with her classmates and they did all they could to make her school life a miserable hell. Well, except for one boy, Isaac, who could see beyond their differences and befriended her. Because of her family life, she became a foster child and moved away from town and took on a new name.

9 years later, we find Irene reading at story hour at the local library. A blind stranger. Terrence, hears her voice and is immediately drawn to her. What a surprise when he hears her again a few days later, as a cafeteria worker at his company and is again enraptured by her. When he finds out that she's been fired for standing up against unwanted advances from her boss, he offers her a job as his personal assistant, and she ends up taking the job. She's drawn in by his kindness but more important Terrence has beautiful green eyes and every time she sees him, he reminds her of her gentle and kind friend Isaac that always went out of his way to try to make her smile, back in her miserable days.

I really enjoyed this story. I love Irene's strength as she has fought so hard to get past her previous life and I love her friendship with her roommate who had no idea about all the turmoil she's faced.

Terrence was a joy as well. He was ruthless when it came to his business, as he just wanted his researchers to help him reach his ultimate goal but he also had a kind heart so it was easy to see why Irene would feel the way she did about him. And I loved how the ending of the book gave hope that things could indeed work out.
