Loved this book. One of my favorites of 2018. This is a long book as most of Kristin Hannah's books are, but it's definitely necessary to tell the story completely. I hated to put this book down and was eager to pick it up again and continue reading it. It tells of the thirty year friendship between Kate and Tully. Their ups and downs and everything in between. This was a very well written book that spanned over 30 years of two best friends. The story began in elementary school and progressed well into adulthood. Tully and Kate both had issues but I really liked them both. This book brought me to tears, which I never get emotional to a fiction book. Actually, I'd give this 3 3/4 stars....

At first I didn't care for the story. I couldn't get into it or the characters. Then when I was finally able to sit down and read for more than an hour, it got better. The last 200 pages had me hooked, and by the time I finished I was a hot mess. I cried, no wait, I bawled.

I couldn't help it. It hit a little too close to home. There should be a warning label (if there was it would completely spoil the story...but sometimes someone you know, who knows what y

A predictable beach book with cookie-cutter characters and somewhat weak plotting. Tully and Kate are life-long friends with little in common but their teenage angst (which continues throughout their entire lives). Manipulative ending.
