I've been reading the Will Trent series by Karin Slaughter since she came out with the first one in 2006 so while I'm waiting for the most current in the series to get to the library, I thought I would go back and meet Will again in his introductory outing. I forgot what a great mystery novel it was, especially in giving us Will and Angie's sad back story.

I've give this a 4.5-star rating if I could--it was so good. I had few expectation about this book and, in fact, it took me a while to get into it, mostly because I disliked Michael, the main character for the whole first section. He is a man's man, a cop, and pretty jaded and obnoxious. At first I didn't particularly care for Will Trent either, the "hero" of our story, a visiting state cop who has become interested in a series of local murders in the Atlanta area.
