I know I absolutely loved these books the first time (though not more than the Uglies series), but this time I'm a bit distracted by the fact that these 5 kids are all within three years in age (maybe two). The likelihood of that seems very slim. Why aren't there any adults who were born at midnight? No younger children either. Also, the book doesn't explain to my satisfaction why 12 is the darkling's number. They're the ones who created a 13th/25th hour, so I would've thought that would come up ...more

People compare this series with two of my favorite series: Harry Potter and Twilight. So here I am trying to find this series and read it.

I really love love love Scott Westerfeld and this book was great. But seeing as I knew there were more books in the series it was as suspenseful as it could've been. Same with book two. ...more
