First of all: Hollywood writers lifted a lot from it. Where else could they have found substantial material to write down Matrix or Inception trips into other mind-worlds if not from good old freaking genius Phil ?
Apart from that a solid Dick book, quite entertaining and filled with great religious twists and turns: again , not for the first time someone tells us about human derivation of god-like religions, but PK puts it straight down with THE perfect religion, combined of every one existing.

Seth Morley is the protagonist, he agrees to take the trip to another world. Starts out with a group settlement on Delmak-O, which is supposed to be not on Terra. Is this an experimental realm? Why is everyone chosen, what is their purpose? Seven characters are killed, and seven more suffer or some eventually die. Clearly they are a group of mad-men, right? Towards the end of the book they think they could be mental asylum patients in an experiment by the building or by military...? but no, they ...more

Infelizmente esse foi um dos livros mais fracos que já li de Phillip K. Dick. Basicamente é um passeio pela mente perturbada do autor com sua teologia barata sendo vomitada em cima do leitor. O que eu gosto nas obras de Phillip K. Dick eu não encontrei nessa. O sentimento de perplexidade e questionamento da realidade ficam bastante a desejar. Não fosse a bizarrice habitual de suas obras, esse livro se aproximaria da ficção científica pulp, à lá Flash Gordon. A única diferença é que Flash Gordon ...more
