An ugly divorce wrecks the plans of two inter-system empires... This is SO Dick.
I wouldn't recommend this one as an introduction to the world of PKD, but for die-hard fans, heck yeah, quite a ride! I had to qualify my praise because I don't think the main character is particularly likable... Or likable at all, really.
Also, a lot of people might be turned off by the fact that a lot of the book centers on a very dated understanding of psychological disorders, but come on. Classic sci-fi. For me at least, it's easy to forget just how old most PKD books are because everything f ...more

I really enjoyed this, for a few reasons. First, Dick has reverted to paring the storylines down a bit which allows him to flesh out the measly 3 or 4 going on here. Also, it is quite funny. Humorous... I need to refresh my memory on this one but basically the protagonist is on some sort of mission to this planet/moon where all the inmates of an insane asylum have escaped and organized themselves into colonies by their disorder.
