Set in a world where most of the "normal" humans have escaped radioactive fallout by colonizing Mars, people take status from keeping and displaying a live and real (cf. electric) animal. Androids have been created for use by the Mars communities but some escape (like runaway slaves) and come down to Earth. These are hunted by police authorised Bounty Hunters.
