This book kept me interested to the core (during most parts) . I loved the way every character had their own flaws.
Either I empathised with Evelyn or I found myself disliking her behaviour. It is safe to say that Evelyn is an interesting and intriguing character. Even though most of her problems could have been solved if she would have learned to simply communicate with her loved ones after she h After finishing this book I was unsure if I should give it three or four stars. Either I empathised with Evelyn or I found myself disliking her behaviour. It is safe to say that Evelyn is an interesting and intriguing character. Even though most of her problems could have been solved if she would have learned to simply communicate with her loved ones after she hadn't done it one time before already. I liked getting to know her complex process of thinking and the way she saw herself and Don on a friendly basis after everything he had done to her or how she learned to see herself as something more than just a play toy for men.
Not only her but also the other characters like Celia and Harry were written stunningly. Harry has to be my favourite character in this book and his tragic ending left me heartbroken. His and Evelyn's bond is the definition of platonic soulmates.
Celia, even though her not accepting Evelyn's bisexuality at first gave me the ick, was a very warm and sweet person and I did tear up a little bit while reading the part in which she passed away.
It was delightful to read Connor's development after losing her father and healing her relationship with Evelyn. Her death was probably the one that affected me the most.
Now, the reason why I gave this book only four stars is simple to pin down: Monique.
Everytime the book switched back to her I found myself bored and uninterested. She was bland and her whole storyline with her divorce was slowing down the exceptional story Evelyn was delivering. I wasn't really invested in the twist towards the ending about her dad being the lover of Harry. She just kinda ruined many parts of the book for me, simply by being unprofessional and lame.
(Other characters I enjoyed reading about: Ruby, John and Robert <3)

In conclusion I enjoyed reading this book and it was exciting to follow Evelyn through her seven marriages. ...more

I will time and time again give this book 5 stars because why on earth would you give it anything less than that?? Like since I started this book, I had heard the best things about it and I went into it with high hopes for it but as I read it more and more, I realized that it was so much more than what I ever thought it was going to be.
