Okay, after picking this up and putting it down multiple times, I finally finished it! If you can make it to the point of Eppie's arrival (about 2/3 the way into it) you've got it made. I didn't want to put it down after that point, and it then ended all too soon!
I had difficulty with the language, and I'm usually pretty good with dialect. I think part of my frustration with and my original dislike for this book stemmed from the seeming unrelated story lines that just seemed like rabbit trails. ...more
