Might have been the September book for our club, but I actually just finished it! Haven't seen any other comments, but I'm not sure my app is working right since the update!
I would give it 3 1/2 stars. It took a long time for me to get into the book, probably because I was reading it at night again!! I didn't really get that it was a flashback, because it was so long between readings. :-P

I'm sure if I read this as part if a class and could discuss the symbolism, over arching themes and foreshadowing I would have enjoyed Ethan Frome more. As it is, I just thought it was depressing and a little shallow. But, hey, I read the entire book in a few hours so at least I didn't waste a bunch of time on it. For that reason, and I like Edith Wharton, it gets three stars. ...more
