It took multiple watches of Denis Villeneuve's two-part movies and two attempts at reading this book for me to finally be able to say that I have a grasp of Dune's world. And the world-building is precisely what is most impressive about what Frank Herbert has achieved here, many decades before the term sci-fi is fully realized.
